Alternative Provision & Family Support

We are currently developing our website and support packages

At ReFrame, we are committed to providing a specialist Alternative Provision that not only supports young people but also works closely with families to create long-term, sustainable change. We believe in a 360-degree approach, placing the child at the centre while also supporting parents and carers through our Family Connection Sessions. By working together, we can help children build emotional resilience, develop essential skills, and break the cycle of generational trauma.

Community Interest Statement

The company’s activities will provide benefit to children, young people, and their families who are facing challenges that impact their emotional well-being, education, and overall development.

ReFrame is an Alternative Education Provision offering specialist support for young people aged 5-19, focusing on emotional regulation, mental well-being, and therapeutic education. Through both in-house services and outreach support in schools and family homes, we help young people develop the skills and confidence they need to thrive.

We take a 360-degree approach, placing the child at the centre while also supporting their family and wider network. By providing therapeutic parenting guidance, life skills support, family therapy, and community connection opportunities, we empower families to build resilience, strengthen relationships, and break the cycle of generational trauma.

A key strength of our provision is our team of dedicated professionals with lived experience. Our staff bring first-hand understanding, empathy, and insight, enabling them to connect with young people in a meaningful way and provide real-world strategies for growth and healing.

Our work benefits young people who may struggle with emotional regulation, social skills, or adverse childhood experiences by offering specialist interventions tailored to individual needs. We recognise that a child’s challenges do not exist in isolation; therefore, we actively involve families in the process, ensuring they have the tools and support needed to create lasting change.

By improving social competence, emotional well-being, and family stability, ReFrame enhances long-term outcomes, helping children and their families to reflect, connect, heal, and learn. Our work is grounded in attachment theory, empathy, and therapeutic parenting, ensuring that our interventions are both compassionate and effective in fostering positive transformation.

Our provision operates under the guiding values of:

Reflect: Encouraging young people to understand their emotions and experiences.

Connect: Building strong, supportive relationships.

Heal: Using therapeutic approaches to promote emotional well-being.

Learn: Ensuring access to quality education and skill development.

Our Approach – A 4-Step Model for Change

At Reframe, we believe that every young person has potential—they just need the right support to unlock it. We follow a 4-step model with each child and their family:
Before any meaningful progress can take place, a young person must feel safe, seen, and understood.

We prioritise relationship-based support by:

✔️ Providing small, nurturing learning environments with a high staff-to-student ratio.

✔️ Engaging in therapeutic mentoring and keyworker support to create strong, trusting connections.

✔️ Offering family outreach and connection sessions, ensuring parents and carers feel included in their child’s journey.
Many young people struggle in mainstream settings because their underlying needs are not fully understood.

We take time to assess and reflect by:

✔️ Conducting individualised assessments that explore emotional regulation, learning styles, and well-being.

✔️ Working with families, schools, and external professionals to identify the root causes of disengagement.

✔️ Encouraging self-reflection through creative and therapeutic approaches, helping young people gain insight into their strengths and challenges.
True learning can only happen once a child feels emotionally regulated and supported.

We create a healing environment by:

✔️ Providing trauma-informed interventions, including therapeutic mentoring, counselling techniques, and emotional regulation strategies.

✔️ Teaching coping mechanisms for stress, anxiety, and frustration.

✔️ Supporting family healing, helping parents/carers develop therapeutic parenting skills that improve the home environment.
Once trust is built, challenges are understood, and emotional resilience is strengthened, young people can begin to re-engage with learning in a way that works for them.

We achieve this by:

✔️ Delivering a personalised curriculum, blending core subjects with life skills and personal development.

✔️ Offering flexible learning pathways, ensuring young people progress at a pace that suits them.

✔️ Providing ongoing support to help transition back into mainstream education, further training, or employment.
